The annual meeting hosted by the Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology took place at UCL on 22 May.
With over 100 attendees, the meeting included a variety of presentations from the various clinical trial units at UCL (CTC, MRC CTU, PRIMENT and CCTU).
ICTM selected 3 trials from the CTC for presentation and these were prepared and delivered by the trial coordinators:
• SUMMIT – Large-scale screening study to evaluate a multi-cancer blood test (Anne-Marie Mullin)
• TRACERx – Experience and Challenges of conducting studies and trials of precision medicine (Harriet Bell)
• CARPALL – Immunotherapy with CD19 CAR redirected T-cells for high risk/relapsed paediatric CD19+ acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and other haematological malignancies (Fernanda Castro)
Laura Farrelly, group lead for lung and gynaecological trials at the CTC, remarked: ‘The trial coordinators gave excellent presentations in the limited time given and responded to all of the questions asked by the audience. Participation from all was excellent and it was great to hear views and receive comments from the different researchers at each of the units.’
