Streamlining staging of colorectal cancer with Whole Body MRI
Description
Design: Multicentre comparison
Treatment: All patients will undergo a whole body MRI protocol in addition to the standard staging protocol employed at their institution.
Key inclusion/exclusion criteria:
Inclusion:
  • Adult patients with histologically proven or suspected colorectal cancer referred for staging.
  • Suspicion of colorectal cancer.

Exclusion: 
  • Evidence of severe or uncontrolled systemic disease 
  • Contraindications to MRI 
  • Polyp cancer

Duration of recruitment: 4 years (closed to recruitment on 19 August 2016).
Aim
This trial evaluates whether early WB-MRI increases per patient sensitivity for metastasis in colorectal cancer compared to standard NICE-approved diagnostic pathways.  
Trial protocols
Trial protocols must not be applied to patients treated outside trials. UCL CTC can only ensure that approved trial investigators are provided with amendments to protocols.
