Trials community celebrates International Clinical Trials Day
Today marks International Clinical Trials Day, a global ACRP initiative intended to educate and inform the wider public about work being done in the clinical trials community.
This will be the 278th anniversary of James Lind’s famous study aboard HMS Salisbury, which began on 20 May 1747 and resulted in the use of citrus fruits as a treatment for scurvy, something considered by many to be the first randomised clinical trial.
To mark the occasion, UCL are highlighting some of the studies led by UCL researchers that have been instrumental in safely testing new therapies and drugs that have changed clinical practice and improved the lives of patients.
