Tomorrow will see World Cancer Day, an annual initiative which takes place every 4 February to raise awareness of cancer, and in turn help to improve its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
To mark the occasion, UCL has launched a campaign intended to spotlight the transformational work in cancer research undertaken by the university and its partners. This year, their materials include the accounts of patients who took part in a CAR T-Cell therapy trial coordinated by the CRUK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre.
The accounts are excerpts from longer conversations held as part of a project being undertaken by the CTC, aiming to tell the story of clinical research from the perspective of the patients who take part in it. Primarily a resource for cancer patients and their families to find out more about taking part in research studies, the CTC will continue to collect material for the project over the coming months, sharing it with the people who take part in their trials, as well as publishing relevant pieces for the wider public.
