The Cancer Trials Centre will refund the cost of reasonable travel expenditure to the event up to a maximum of £150* per person for members of the public / current or future patient representatives. Eligible costs include bus, underground, standard class rail travel, and taxis if you are unable to use public transport. We request that you book train fares as early as possible to get the best fare price available. If you are attending in a professional capacity from a clinical trial unit, research institute, or industry we cannot refund travel costs. If you are unsure if you are eligible to claim travel costs please contact us before purchasing travel. *If the £150 limit will cause difficulties in attending please contact ctc.ppie@ucl.ac.uk so that we can discuss ways we may be able to assist.
If you would like to make a travel claim please ensure that you keep proof of purchase (this can be a receipt, email confirmation, a copy of a train/bus ticket, or for travel within London using a contactless card a screenshot of a bank statement or oyster card account showing the relevant journeys will be accepted. Copies of the expense claim form will be available in person on the day of the event, CTC staff will be available on the day if you require any help completing the form. If you would prefer to complete this electronically, we can email you a copy after the event.
We are unfortunately not able to refund any expenditure in advance of the event taking place. We can only refund expenses which have been directly incurred for the event, we cannot pay any associated invoices directly.
